Living in Glenmore
Glenmore is the valley running north from downtown, hemmed in by Knox Mountain on one side and Dilworth on the other. It's the most central place in Kelowna that still feels residential, which is why it's been steadily filling in for forty years.
The housing runs the full span. Older homes on established streets near the golf course, waves of subdivision from the eighties and nineties in the middle, and newer townhouse and apartment development along the Glenmore Road corridor. That corridor is the neighbourhood's defining feature in both directions; it's how you get everywhere quickly, and it's what gets congested at four in the afternoon.
Who it suits
Anyone who wants to be close to downtown without paying for the lakeshore, and doesn't need to walk to a beach. Strong option if your daily trips are split between downtown and the north end.

Older detached homes at the accessible end of the detached market, newer builds and hillside homes above that, plus a growing supply of townhouses along the corridor.

Downtown is minutes away. The north end, UBCO and the airport are a straight run up Glenmore Road, which makes this one of the easier places in the city to live if your week pulls you in both directions.

What's actually here.
Kelowna Golf & Country Club sits in the middle of it. Knox Mountain Park is at the south end for hiking with the best view of the city. Grocery and everyday shopping along the corridor, plus the recreation and sports fields at Parkinson and Glenmore.
Schools, parks and services in the catchment are listed on the school district's site, which is worth checking directly, since catchments change.

I find a lot of clients end up here, and I personally love it. The proximity to downtown Kelowna and everything it has to offer is great, while still being a quiet, established neighbourhood.
You're close to everything, in a peaceful area. For some people this is the obvious choice.
